Help Center

Find clear guidance for buying and activating tags, scanning items, reporting lost or found belongings, and handling recovery safely.

🚀 Getting Started

Follow these steps to start using FindVault:

1. Activate Tag
2. Attach to Item
3. Stay Protected

Activation Process

  • Scan the QR code supplied with the tag or open the activation link printed on the packaging.
  • Enter the required owner information and choose the contact details you approve for recovery.
  • Select Activate. The tag is then ready to be attached to your item.

🏷️ Using Your Tag

When someone finds your item and scans the tag, the public recovery page follows the privacy mode you selected:

Normal Scan

The finder sees a limited scan page with owner-approved item and contact information. Private profile data remains hidden.

Emergency Scan

Where an emergency profile is enabled, the finder may use the emergency route to view only the information the owner explicitly approved for that purpose.

Emergency? Call the appropriate local emergency number first (112, 100 or 108). FindVault provides supporting tools and does not replace police, ambulance or emergency services.

🤝 Lost & Found Board

Create a public report on the Lost Board when an item is missing, or on the Found Board when you have found an item.

  • The board helps the community coordinate safe recovery.
  • Share only the broad location and public details needed to identify the item. Private contact information is stored separately.
  • For a missing person, suspected theft or immediate danger, contact the appropriate local authority as well.

🛡️ FAQs / Common Questions

What is an activation code?
Each printed FindVault tag includes a one-time activation code. Activation succeeds only when the Tag ID and activation code match, which helps prevent unauthorized overwriting of a tag.
How do I track an order?
Save the Order ID after checkout. On the Order Tracking page, enter the Order ID and the last four digits of the mobile number to view processing, printing, shipping and delivery status.
Is payment secure?
Checkout uses Razorpay and the payment amount is verified server-side. For a payment issue, contact WhatsApp support with the Order ID and a screenshot that does not expose an OTP, card PIN or full card number.
Is my address shown publicly?
No. The scan page shows only limited owner-approved information. Do not store unnecessary full addresses or complete identity-document numbers in public fields.
What happens if someone misuses my tag?
Security-relevant scan and activation events may be logged so suspicious activity can be reviewed. The owner can manage tag status from the dashboard.
What happens without an internet connection?
Previously cached guidance may remain available offline, but publishing, messaging and real-time owner lookup require a connection.
How do I check an order or refund?
Use the order-tracking page with the Order ID. For a refund or payment issue, contact support and include the Order ID.
How can I delete my account or data?
Send a request from the registered email address to support@findvault.in. The request will be verified and handled according to the privacy and retention policy.

QR/NFC reliability FAQ

Clear expectations before buying or activating a tag.

Does QR work without internet?

The printed QR can be scanned offline, but the finder needs internet to open the owner-approved recovery page. On a slow network, retry or use the printed Tag ID with the Scan page.

Does the tag work before activation?

An unactivated tag can be verified as issued, but owner contact and recovery actions remain unavailable until the one-time activation code is completed.

What if the camera cannot scan?

Clean the tag, increase light, move the camera 10–20 cm away, or type the Tag ID manually on the Scan page.

How does NFC behave?

NFC opens the same secure recovery page on compatible phones. QR remains the universal fallback for phones without NFC.

What if the tag is damaged?

Contact support with the order ID and a clear photo. Eligible printing defects or transit damage are covered under the replacement policy.

Will it track my item?

No. FindVault does not provide live GPS. A location is included only when a finder explicitly shares it in a report.

Safe handover guidance

Meet at a police station, security desk, college or office reception, event help desk, or another busy public location rather than an isolated place. Confirm ownership using a hidden identifying detail, Tag ID or QR verification.

Suspicious listing or unsafe request? Avoid direct contact and submit a moderation report through the Safety Center. Call 112 when there is immediate danger.
