Vehicle QR stickers for privacy-controlled owner contact

A vehicle QR sticker can help during blocked parking, minor incidents or urgent contact, but it should reveal only the information needed for that situation.

How the vehicle scan page should work

The finder selects a reason such as blocked parking, lights left on, damage noticed or emergency assistance. The owner receives the reason and approximate scan details. Call or WhatsApp buttons appear only when the owner has enabled them.

Best placement

Use a non-reflective, UV-resistant sticker on an interior glass surface that remains visible from outside. Do not place it inside the driver’s direct field of view or over legally required labels.

Protect the owner’s identity

The public page should avoid showing a full address, vehicle documents or unrestricted personal data. A display name, controlled message and temporary contact route are usually enough.

Anti-abuse controls

Rate-limit repeated messages, hide raw IP data, allow the owner to block suspicious activity and keep sensitive scan-security identifiers in restricted logs rather than the owner’s public dashboard.

What the sticker is not

It is not an anti-theft GPS tracker, immobiliser or replacement for police, insurance or emergency services. Its purpose is fast, privacy-controlled communication and recovery support.

Choose a FindVault recovery tag

Compare products, select privacy mode and activate the tag after delivery. The QR remains the same while owner-controlled profile details can be updated.

Frequently asked questions

Will a vehicle QR sticker reveal my phone number?

Can it locate a stolen vehicle?

What material should I use?

Use UV- and heat-resistant non-reflective vinyl designed for vehicle glass.
