Why should someone use FindVault?

Because FindVault is designed as a complete recovery protocol—not only a QR link. The owner controls what is public, scan intelligence is privacy-safe, exact location is permission-based, and the handover can be verified using a finder-held one-time code.

What makes it different

Four layers that a basic QR redirect does not provide.

Any website can open a phone number after a scan. FindVault adds privacy controls, intelligence, verification and an owner dashboard around the recovery.

🎛️

Protection Modes

Private Recovery, Direct Contact, Family Safety and Emergency Ready modes change what a finder can see and do.

🧠

Verified Scan Intelligence

Approximate network region, device category, repeat count and abuse-risk score are recorded server-side.

🔐

Two-party Handover

A six-digit code is shown only to the finder. The signed-in owner confirms it after receiving the item.

🧾

Recovery Receipt

Successful handover closes the case, records the result privately and can turn off Lost Mode automatically.

Privacy explained simply

Who can see what?

Public finder can see

  • Tag status and item name
  • Owner-approved display name
  • Owner-approved contact method
  • Lost-mode message and reward
  • Emergency details only when enabled

Verified owner can see

  • Scan time and approximate region
  • Device/browser category
  • Repeat-scan count and risk level
  • Finder message and optional contact
  • Precise location only when consented

FindVault does not expose

  • Owner’s hidden phone number
  • Raw scanner IP to the owner
  • Secret precise GPS
  • Aadhaar, banking PIN, password or OTP
  • Bulk public tag lists
Protection modes

Choose privacy according to the item.

The same setting should not be forced on a car sticker, a child safety band and a laptop tag.

Protection architecture

How the system is protected.

🔑

Account isolation

Owner dashboard data is tied to the signed-in Firebase user and protected by Firestore rules.

🧱

Server-only sensitive writes

Public scans and recovery cases are created by Cloud Functions, not trusted directly from browser data.

🚦

Rate limits and risk checks

Repeated submissions, bot-like clients and rapid scans receive limits and higher risk scores.

🗑️

Data minimisation

Scan logs and private recovery data have cleanup windows instead of unlimited retention.

Honest limitation: FindVault is not a GPS tracker and cannot guarantee recovery. Approximate network location can be wrong because of VPNs, carrier routing or shared internet. Precise GPS appears only after the finder allows browser location access. These limits are shown openly so customers know exactly what the product can and cannot do.
Common questions

Questions customers usually ask.

Can FindVault secretly track me?

No. A passive QR/NFC tag has no battery or live GPS. The system records a scan only when someone opens the scan page. Precise location requires a browser permission prompt.

Will my phone number become public?

Only when you select an owner-approved direct-contact mode. Private Recovery keeps the number hidden and uses a secure report flow.

Can someone fake a scan?

No online system can eliminate all abuse, but FindVault records scan events through a server endpoint, applies rate limits and labels repeated or bot-like activity with a higher risk score.

Does FindVault ask for Aadhaar or banking data?

Basic tag activation does not require Aadhaar, bank PIN, card PIN, password or payment OTP. Customers should never enter those values on public recovery pages.
